NASA Successfully Find the "Alien"

NASA finally held a press conference on the issue of aliens at 14.00, Thursday or Friday (3/12/2010) early morning at 02.00 hrs. Material presented at the press conference finally answer the curiosity of various parties, especially those that believe in the existence of aliens, concerning the existence of living beings outside the Earth.

NASA said that they really have found the "aliens". However, the figure of an alien who is found not as described in news and movie, also does not come from space. Alien is a NASA turns out to be bizarre microbes found in the depths of Mono Lake, near Yosemite National Park in California.

Why microbes seemed to be confused with aliens? Microbes are not only have a high tolerance against toxic compounds, namely arsenic. Creature belonging to national Halomonadaceae GFAJ-1 strains were even made of arsenic as one kompnen in genetic material or DNA.

Experts say, the genetic material in microbes that can refer to alternative forms of life. The structure of DNA in these microbes can resemble other living creature, that is composed of phosphorus, nitrogen bases, and proteins. However, in conditions that are not possible, the microbial genetic material might consist of arsenic as an alternative phosphorus.

Felisa Wolfe Dr. Simon, a researcher from Arizona State University microbes involved in the study, said, "The findings show that life there can be much more flexible than we know." If the alternative life forms that exist on earth, it is not impossible that there is other life in outer space.

Professor Ariel Anbar, astrobiolog involved in the study, said, "The life we know requires certain compounds and the exclusion of the other compounds. But, whether it's the only option? How is life different from what we know could be possible?"

The announcement of the discovery of the NASA Earth life was very smelly and not the space is disappointing many. However, Mary Voytek, Director Astrobiologi NASA, said, "I am so sorry if a lot of people disappointed. But this discovery is a big thing and a phenomenal discovery."

Pamela Conrad of NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt said, "This discovery opens our perspective. He emphasized, the search for extraterrestrial life should be changed. Scientists can not only detect the possibility of life based on the presence of certain compounds.
