Padang, 27/10/2010 (Kominfo Newsroom) President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, along with First Lady Ani Yudhoyono and his entourage, on Wednesday (27/10) at around 18:15 pm, arriving at Minangkabau International Airport, Padang, West Sumatra, after traveling nearly four hours from Hanoi, Vietnam.
Arriving at the airport VIP lounge Minangkabau, Padang, the President being greeted by Vice President Boediono and Coordinating Minister for People's Welfare Agung Laksono directly conduct a meeting at a time to listen to report on the development impact of tectonic earthquake and tsunami of Vice President Boediono.
The President plans to the Mentawai Islands, West Sumatra, using helicopters, Thursday (28/10) morning after the night in PT Semen Indarung, Padang. At the disaster site, the president will review the direct handling of the impact of tectonic earthquake tsunami that followed.
Earlier, the President plans to make state visit to Vietnam and attended the 17th ASEAN Summit.
In addition to Vice President Boediono and related officials, Chief of Presidential Working Unit of Supervision and Control of Development Kuntoro also give a report.
Through these Kuntoro reports revealed the existence of several friendly countries such as Japan, New Zealand, Singapore and other countries and the United Nations (UN) offer assistance.
Responding to offers of help from some friendly countries, President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono expressed his gratitude with the hope of aid was channeled to the victims who really need it.
